Day of Decay

Day of Decay is a Tabletop game inspired by Knave. A post-apocalyptic environment bringing you into a world ravaged by spores and the infected, throwing you and your party into the horrors that no person should experience.

After the world was introduced to the powerful drug "CZ-17 WonderDrug." Overconsumption and lack of testing for new developed strains made a deadly combination for its unlucky victims. Rapidly mutating the body and creating a new evolution of mankind, The Lurkers. And evolving the world around creating the far-lands. Regions of the world that are infested with spores and animals hellbent on preserving this new ecosystem.

What kind of Challenges does this game bring?

Compared to other games where you are either a hero of a village, patron of a god, or a skillful warrior. You are instead just a regular survivor. You might have some abilities that make you stand on top, but at the end of the day, you'll decay like everyone else has.

This game with the right GM, can deliver a calculated and terrifying experience. As you cant just run and gun into every problem as the Lurkers can call upon hordes of unique infected and creatures inflicted with spores. And inflicted with to much of the infection will instantly kill your character as the spores overpower the body.

Magic in this universe

Magic in this universe does not exist; instead, people consume the CZ-17 WonderDrug to gain supernatural abilities for a temporary amount of time. From either the ability to direct lightning out of your hands, or to gain the ability to consume and kind of flesh without any drawbacks. However, everything comes at a price and the WonderDrugs' have the worst. As even failing a simple check on taking a WonderDrug can cause infection.
